HEARCARE PLUS is a group of audiologists who have been providing audiology services to the community for over 15 years. We have branches situated across Johannesburg, as well as a mobile audiology unit to make our services accessible to all. The Audiologists at HEARCARE PLUS will walk the extra mile to ensure that our patients are properly diagnosed, treated with care and compassion and satisfied with our services. All our audiologists in our team are fully qualified with current clinical degrees registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and members of the South African Speech-Language- Hearing Association and/or the South African Association of South Africa. We are committed to regular continuing Education programmes and keeping up to date with rapidly changing technology.

Meet the Team
Nicolene Vlok (Prinsloo)
Nicolene Vlok (Prinsloo) qualified with a B.Communication Pathology in 2003 from the University of Pretoria.
Nicolene opened the Linden branch in 2005 and has since opened the four other branches.
She loves all aspects of the hearing health profession and is committed to patient satisfaction at all the branches. Nicolene is the Group Manager of the practices.
Christelle Joubert qualified in 2002 with a B.Communication Pathology degree from the University of Pretoria. She is the practice manager and full time audiologist at Linden Hearing Centre.
Christelle has a wealth of knowledge and experience with hearing aid technology, software and fine tuning of hearing aids.
Christelle is in the unique position to empathize with patients and is willing to go the extra mile with a patient on the journey to better hearing and communication.
Romi Michal is currently the full time Audiologist at HearcarePlus Linksfield as well as the practice manager for HearcarePlus Constantia and HearcarePlus Linksfield.
Romi qualified in 2008 with a BA (Speech & Hearing Therapy) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
She is passionate about creating hearing loss awareness and has many years experience in hearing aid fittings.
She enjoys working with the senior population and her caring attitude allows patients to feel valued through the hearing aid fitting process.
HearcarePlus Linksfield sees many school age learners passing through for hearing tests. Romi’s love for children immediately puts them and their parents at ease.
Talia Aronowitz qualified Cum Laude in 2009 with a BA (Speech & Hearing Therapy) from the University of the Witwatersrand. Talia received the following awards upon graduating: The Medal & Book Prize- awarded to the most outstanding graduate in Speech and Hearing and the Audiology Prize awarded to the student with the best academic record in Audiology.
She is the practice manager and one of the audiologists at HEARCARE PLUS Waterfall.
Talia is passionate about audiology. She enjoys helping people to connect better to their family and friends via enabling better hearing. She enjoys that the field of audiology is both an art and a science.
Olivia Perfect joined the Hearcare Plus team in February 2019. She qualified from the University of Pretoria with her degree of B.Communication pathology in Audiology in 2017. After graduating she completed her community service year in Klerksdorp Tertiary hospital. Her drive and commitment to her patients culminated in her being awarded the CEO award for the best allied community service worker.
Olivia works as an Audiologist at both Hearcare Plus Waterfall and Hearcare Plus Linden practices. As well as working in practice, she also visits retirement homes monthly to assist our patients who cannot get to the practices.
Olivia has a special interest in vestibular testing, which she conducts at the Waterfall branch.
Her passion for hearing and helping others is seen through her work with patients of all ages.
Mikela Da Rocha
Mikela Da Rocha joined the Hearcare Plus team in April 2017. She qualified with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Therapy from the University of Witwatersrand in 2015. She then completed her community service year at Leratong Hospital where she gained immense experience in neonatal/paediatric/adult speech therapy and audiology.
Mikela is the full time audiologist and speech therapist at the Hearcare Plus Mulbarton branch.
Mikela is passionate about diagnostic audiology and enjoys fitting hearing aids and seeing the improved quality of life of her patients. She also has a special interest in noise induced hearing loss and hearing protection devices.
Taryn Laughton joined HearCare plus at an exciting time where our Bergbron branch relocated to EXP medical centre earlier this year. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of the Witwatersrand where she was top of her practical audiology class for three years.
Last year she embarked on a different adventure and completed her community service year in rural KZN.
She feels like she was drawn to this career as she values the joy that comes from social interactions with others and hopes to assist those who may feel excluded from their communities due to a hearing loss.
Kendyl Macpherson qualified with a dual Audiology and Speech Language Pathology degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2008.
She joined the Waterfall team in July 2018 after moving back to South Africa. She spent 7 years in London specialising in Paediatric Audiology.
Kendyl is passionate about advanced diagnostic testing as well as her work with paediatrics. She has also thoroughly enjoyed broadening her knowledge and skills in the areas of vestibular assessments since starting with the Waterfall team. Kendyl also tutors 4th year Audiology students at the University of the Witwatersrand.
